What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, 8+ years’ experience in mechanical design and / or verification or other key competency, Demonstrated experience in full cycle mechanical design and releasing products into a production environment, Detailed knowledge and use of key development tools and design standards: 3D CAD, Finite Element Analysis, Tolerances, Manufacturing Principles, Interference Checks, Broad knowledge developing high complexity projects that have required one of more of Mechanical Engineering Design specializations or competencies: Tolerance Analysis, DFM, Serviceability, Detailed knowledge (with moderate complexity) of Industry or specific sector, regulatory and safety standards, Ability to mentor less experienced engineers

Nice to Have

MSME/PhD is preferred, Kubernetes a plus

What You'll Do.

Lead highly complex mechanical hardware designs for customer or innovation projects

Manage a small team of design engineers

Ensure technical milestones are achieved

Guide other team members' designs

Lead technical design reviews

Ensure specification requirements input and design outputs align

Partners with system architects to review and clarify design requirements and define the appropriate mechanical/thermal architecture

Assemble prototypes and verifies form/fit/function

Work with and manage external component suppliers/manufacturers and provide input to their product roadmaps

Define design innovations and potential patentable solutions

Lead resolution of complex design issues and manages design trade-offs

Develop and validate complex mechanical products

Lead/supervise mechanical layouts utilizing standard tools

Direct all aspects of mechanical design with minimal supervision

Manage/coach/train engineers with less experience

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Partners with system architects; Work with and manage external component suppliers/manufacturers; Leads cross-functional and ME design reviews; Work as part of a global team; Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical design engineers; Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting teamwork, creativity, and knowledge sharing among team members

Communication Scope

Communicates technical aspects of a project effectively to internal and external customers; Effectively communicate with good understanding of English

Process & Methodology

Assess a project and articulating risk while developing project milestones, Develop projects in a stage-gate process (PLCQ), Manage a small team of design engineers, Manage design trade-offs
