What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or GED, 5 years of progressive experience in repair of gasoline and alternatively fueled automobiles, trucks, and heavy, Must be 18 years of age or older, Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license, Must be computer efficient
Nice to Have
North Carolina State Inspection license is a plus, Certified by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technicians as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F
What You'll Do.
Perform basic services to vehicles
Assist with general cleaning of the shop
Assist with parts room chores
Perform tire replacement
Perform tire rotation
Perform brake replacement
Perform minor other repair work
Follow a task list to perform necessary services
Record all work on a computer
Perform tire disposal
Perform garbage removal
Perform work area cleaning
Perform basic cleaning of the parts room area
Perform mechanical work to repair automotive equipment
Perform mechanical work to maintain automotive equipment
Perform mechanical work to rebuild automotive equipment
Lead worker support through motivation
Lead worker support through direction
Lead worker support through review
Lead worker support through feedback
Complete Safety Training post hire
Maintain County vehicles in good working order
Ensure vehicles are safe
Perform diagnostics on vehicles
Perform general maintenance on assigned vehicles
Perform deferred maintenance on assigned vehicles
Perform vehicle inspections
Apply knowledge of safety procedures
Assume responsibility for the department in absence of
