Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Gate Attendant/Scale Operator is responsible for accurately and efficiently monitoring and recording waste volumes entering the post collection site, as well as collecting appropriate usage fees from customers. This position is accountable for coordinating the daily activities of Gate Attendant/Scale Operators with the Operations Clerk, Operations Supervisor, and/or Operations Manager. The Lead Gate Attendant/Scale Operator also will oversee and ensure that all work and processes adhere to Company Policy, as well as federal and state requirements. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Review and ensure that all special waste files are completed correctly, manifests are being recorded correctly, and initial and random inspections are being completed by Operations. * Perform radiation testing at the scale houses (where applicable) on a weekly basis. * Relay any issues with the security systems at the scale house to Operation Clerk, Operations Supervisor and/or Operations Manager. Coordinate repairs with third party vendors as needed. * Review daily schedules to accurately estimate hour requirements for efficient control of the scale houses, making adjustments in work procedures as necessary to ensure production schedules can be adhered to. * Recommend measures to improve operation methods, turn around times, efficient processing of inbound and outbound weights. * Direct employees in completion of work; may interpret Company policies, instruction, specifications, blueprints or job orders for employee understanding; assign duties and work to employees; confer with supervisor or manager to coordinate activities of individual departments or shift; train or assist in training of new employees. * Ensure that the scale house is clean and supplied for the next shift at the completion of each shift. * Assist Operation Clerk in filing daily paperwork, troubleshooting discrepancies with tickets, reviewing video footage, etc. * Determine content of material ent
