Full Job Description
## Accountabilities Manage, maintain, and optimize SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases deployed in AWS cloud environments (including RDS and Aurora). Lead database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and incident resolution to ensure SLA compliance and system stability. Design and implement database backup, recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery strategies across enterprise systems. Define and enforce database standards, security practices, and access controls across environments. Automate recurring database operations, monitoring, reporting, and maintenance tasks to improve efficiency and reliability. Oversee database deployments, schema changes, and production/QA release support in coordination with DevOps teams. Monitor and resolve performance issues, analyze root causes, and proactively optimize system behavior. Participate in on-call rotations and provide escalation support for critical database incidents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate application and infrastructure needs into scalable database solutions. Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to establishing best practices for database operations and support. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in database administration with strong expertise in SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. 12+ years of overall IT experience in infrastructure or database engineering roles. Strong hands-on experience with AWS database services, including RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL. Deep knowledge of performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and troubleshooting database engine issues. Experience with backup/recovery, HA/DR design, and enterprise-grade database reliability practices. Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server environments. Experience working with cloud infrastructure components such as IAM, EC2, VPC, and storage services.
