Must Have
Patient identification and labeling accurately
Nice to Have
High School Diploma or GED, Program Graduate, Phlebotomy or Lab Specimen training program, Direct patient care and/or phlebotomy experience
What You'll Do.
Perform routine and special laboratory specimen collections
Handle laboratory specimens
Distribute laboratory specimens
Explain specimen collection procedures and instructions
Travel to other patient off-site locations to collect
Transport specimens back to the lab
Maintain patient confidentiality
Properly identify patients
Maintain proper inventory in the department
Keep appropriate stock levels in collection basket
Follow all quality control and quality assurance guidelines
Perform job duties with proper documentation
Effective intradepartmental and interdepartmental communications
Assist in the training of new and existing
Demonstrate accuracy in laboratory specimen collection
Demonstrate accuracy in laboratory specimen handling
Ensure quality patient care
Maintain a safe environment
Comply with RHS policies/procedures/regulatory requirements
Support National Patient Safety Goals
Support Quality Initiatives
Recognize and report variances
Provide resolutions for variances
Use appropriate protective equipment
Use appropriate body mechanics
Follow safety guidelines
Identify and act to resolve variances
Report suspected non-compliance to management
Collaborate with providers

Provide for specialized needs of the patient
