What You'll Do.
Manage workflow of all specimens
Manage and triage samples
Identify potential errors
Maximize patient/client satisfaction
Prepare specimens for testing
Process specimens for testing
Perform specimen accessioning
Receive specimens into laboratory
Perform clerical duties
Handle specimens sent to Reference laboratories
Process specimens sent to Reference laboratories
Prepare specimens sent to Reference laboratories
Distribute work to technical areas
Process specimens received in laboratory
Accession specimens into LIS
Distribute work to correct departments
Input correct information in LIS/EHR
Assess samples received vs tests ordered
Resolve discrepancies
Maintain safe and clean working environment
Resolve reference lab issues
Complete process for send-out testing
Follow up with physicians/coworkers/patients
Keep work area clean and stocked
Perform cleaning of refrigerators/freezers
Keep maintenance logs up to date
Investigate discrepancies
Resolve problems with minimal supervision
Complete all assigned training
