Full Job Description

As a Junior Survey Engineer you will join the Geodetic Metrology group at CERN, where you will take part in the metrology and alignment of a wide variety of components used in the particle accelerators. You will be using state-of-the-art surveying tools and software to achieve the [sub-millimetre](https://videos.cern.ch/record/2718427) accuracy necessary to achieve our goals. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate on the High Intensity ECN3 (HI-ECN3) project and contribute to the efforts of the Geodetic Metrology team in the North Area. Your responsibilities: * Participate in the design, development and qualification of high-precision alignment system concepts, working in close collaboration with the interdisciplinary team of the HI-ECN3 project. * Prepare and check the quality of inputs (theoretical beamline trajectories, installation drawing, component geometrical data). * Carry out geometrical measurements of components or prototypes using standard 3D geodetic techniques, such as laser tracker systems, and provide technical support to the equipment owner. * Conduct survey activities, including network measurements, installation tasks, and alignment processes, from the preparation to realisation of interventions. * Perform data processing using a 3D least-squares adjustment application as well as preparing technical documentation and presenting results. * Contribute to the group's research and development activities related to alignment monitoring systems (e.g. ATS800, robotic platforms, robotic tracing, Universal Alignment Platform), and participate in the development, testing and maintenance of in-house surveying software applications. Your profile: * Experience in the domain of high precision geodetic or industrial metrology including the instruments and the methods used in high accuracy metrology. * Initial experience in coordination, planning, reporting and quality assurance aspects would be a plus. Skills: * Knowledge and application of hig
