Full Job Description

**Title:** Junior Satellite Operations Specialist KBR is seeking a skilled and motivated candidate to join our space and satellite operations team on our satellite operations contract at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will: * Function as a Satellite Operations Specialist and perform real-time satellite contacts, configuring command and control ground equipment during pre-pass, pass and post-pass periods. * Support system readiness, mission planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation for satellite launch and early orbit operations, on-orbit operations, and end-of-life retirement and disposal. * Perform scheduling, data trending and analysis, real-time operations, and spacecraft anomaly resolution. * Assist in the development and maintenance of mission-specific documentation including procedures, on-console handbooks, support plans, Operations Directives (OD), and test plans. * Conduct conflict resolution to support the acquisition, tracking, commanding, control, and telemetry data acquisition for space vehicles. * Implement anomaly response plans including participation in tiger-team discussions, recovery actions proposal and evaluation, implementation of approved solutions and anomaly report generation. * Conduct real-time evaluation of spacecraft, payload, and ground systems status in accordance with established mission requirements. * Position will require shift work or support during off-shift hours (Panama schedule). **Required Skills/Experience:** * **An active TS clearance with SCI eligibility, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.** * Ideally, 1 - 5 years’ experience in a satellite operations capacity (may be waived with other military operations experience such as command and control, intelligence, and operations management). * Requires problem-solving skills and ability to follow procedures, checklists and contingency plans. * Ability to be an effective team member. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
