TRIUMF’s state-of-the-art Machine Shop specializes in translating physicists’ vision into prototypes and one-of-a-kind experimental components. This is often an iterative process in which scientists, designers and machinists work back-and-forth to create unique components that must meet extreme tolerances for vacuum, cryogenics, and high-precision measurement. We are looking to hire an experienced Journeyperson Machinist to join this exciting team. **BASIC FUNCTION:** The primary function of this role involves the manufacture, fabrication, and repair of experimental equipment, instrumentation, and systems as part of TRIUMF's program of work. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * **Machine Setup and Operation:** * Independently set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce complex components. * Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job. * **Quality Assurance:** * Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure precision and adherence to specified tolerances. * Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to verify conformance to design and quality standards. * **Programming
