The Brief

“Journeyperson Electrician at Silent-Aire. Skills: Electrical installation, Electrical maintenance, Electrical repair, Control panel fabrication. Install conduit systems, wiring, electrical equipment, panels, sensors and control devices. Fabricate and assemble electrical control panels and control systems”

Eligibility Requirements

Required to work in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to noise, moving machinery, varying temperatures and other production-related hazards, Required to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and excessive noise levels in the workplace, Overtime may be available occasionally with work volume

Must Have

Valid Alberta Journeyperson Electrician Certificate, Ability to accurately read, interpret and apply information from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, drawings, manuals and technical specifications, In-depth working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable regulatory and safety standards, Ability to apply code requirements to electrical installations, system modifications and troubleshooting activities, Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical power distribution, control circuits and motor control systems, Working knowledge of quality assurance processes, inspection methods and compliance verification requirements, Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment while effectively managing multiple competing priorities, Ability to interact with others in a sensitive, tactful, diplomatic and professional manner at all times, Organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks, resolve issues and consistently meet deadlines, Proven ability to thrive and contribute effectively in a team-based environment, Works effectively on individual tasks, maintaining productivity and accountability with minimal supervision, Maintains attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality of work, Physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs, Ability to stand for extended periods throughout each shift, Manual dexterity is required to effectively operate tools and equipment

Red Seal endorsement, Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring and supporting the technical development of electrical apprentices in accordance with apprenticeship standards, Proven experience installing, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting and repairing a variety of electrical machinery and equipment, Experience performing routine electrical maintenance operations, Experience supporting inspections, audits and regulatory compliance activities

What You'll Do.

Install conduit systems

sensors and control devices

Fabricate and assemble electrical control panels and control systems

Perform system verification and functional checkout

schematics and specifications

Provide technical guidance and oversight of apprentice work

terminate and test conduit systems

sensors and control devices

Construct and fabricate electrical control panels and systems

Install interlocking wiring and complete wiring inspection and checkout procedures

Follow manufacturer specifications

vendor manuals and assembly and installation instructions

Lead and perform electrical isolation

lockout/tagout (LOTO) and energized work assessments

Assess electrical hazards and ensure required permits

controls and safe work practices are implemented

maintain and repair electrical power and control circuits

Ensure all electrical work meets applicable codes

drawings and company quality requirements

update and maintain accurate work orders

inspection reports and technical documentation

Monitor materials and parts usage and report shortages

defects or quality concerns

Assist with the development and execution of preventative and predictive maintenance programs

Recommend improvements or modifications to electrical systems

plans and specifications

care and storage of tools

test instruments and assigned equipment

direct and support junior employees and apprentices

Inspect and certify work quality as required

Maintain current knowledge of electrical technologies

compliance requirements

Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act
