What They're Looking For.

Must Have

3+ years’ experience as a production supervisor, Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse, and transportation management, Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items, Knowledge of local and federal regulations including AOHS and Employment Standards Code, Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team, customer service orientation, Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product, Ability to maintain a high level of communication with both internal and external stakeholders, customers, contractors, and industry peers, Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment), Must work shift 2 - rotating days from 6am to 6pm

Nice to Have

Trades school/ticket and/or University degree or diploma in related field, Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing, First Aid skills and/or certificates

What You'll Do.

Supervising and coordinating the activities of production and operation workers (approximately 50-75 employees)

Ensuring that production schedules are created and completed on time

Directing the manufacturing workforce to achieve production goals

Enforcing safety and sanitation regulations

Anticipating production obstacles and managing team and stakeholders to overcome them

Providing leadership and ownership of product quality

Consulting with Quality staff and Engineers on quality issues

Accountable for the overall QA performance of the manufacturing unit

Conferring with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems

and production issues

Providing motivation for employees

Processing and approving hourly timesheets and correcting exceptions in a timely manner

Monitoring and assessing employee’s performance

Ensuring that work orders are completed in a timely fashion and within budget

Ensuring safety is a priority with all workers

Overseeing strict adherence to Alberta and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety guidelines

Attending JHSA meetings as needed

Working with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments

Demonstrating equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees or assigning employees to experienced workers for training

Reading and analyzing charts

production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs and taking action to meet schedule deadlines

Reading and reviewing of manufacturing engineering packages and providing improvement feedback

Performing all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls/Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act
