What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Meets the requirements of ANSI 3. 1 with 3 years’ experience in performing the duties of a Radiation Protection Technician or a recognized equivalent position within a nuclear facility., Successful completion of Radiation Protection Senior Technician selection examination.
What You'll Do.
Perform or direct the daily activities of Radiation Protection Technicians
Attend meetings and training
Participate in lessons learned discussions
root cause discussions
troubleshooting plans
Engage in and perform work as necessary
lead and direct work activities
Assist Radiation Protection Foremen in completion of assigned work
Assist in Radiation Protection training programs and conduct OJT
Participate in Observation Programs
Provide feedback and evaluations of training courses
Research problems and assist Radiation Protection staff in their resolution
Suggest changes or modifications to alleviate station challenges
Provide overall radiological expertise
Assist in the evaluation of work schedules
Assign qualified personnel to tasks
Review and approve survey maps and air samples
Perform W. O. screening
Provide radiological input to work plans
Insert RP hold points into work plans
Assist RP ALARA Specialist in preparation and conduct of formal ALARA pre-job reviews
Assist in locating information pertaining to radiological conditions
Perform duties of FIN RP Tech
Outage Control Point Tech and Area RP Tech
Perform heat stress monitoring
Assist other work groups
Perform duties of a Junior Radiation Protection Technician
Specify Radiation Protection requirements for Radiation Work Permits (RWP) and prepare same
Recommend appropriate radiological safety precautions and procedures
Evaluate work activities and practices
