Full Job Description
**JOB PURPOSE:** The Accountant I performs various accounting activities in support of the shared services accounting department. Provides support for the accounting department including journal entry preparation, reconciliation, and research. Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates the implementation of accounting and control procedures as needed to meet established company goals and comply with regulatory standards. Has minimal discretion to vary from established procedures by performing structured work assignments and performs routine, entry level professional assignments. **Essential Duties And Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities:** Records and assists in maintaining detailed records of individual fixed asset purchases. Assists with the transfer sub ledger activity (depreciation, sales, retirement, and CIP) to the General Ledger and reconcile fixed asset sub ledger to the General Ledger. Helps prepare monthly Capital Expenditure, PP&E Roll forward, Sales and Retirement reports for managers. Supports the accounting team with the monthly close process and prepare journal entries on GL activity. Records monthly amortization cost of patent and trademark, Microsoft software charge and IT related charges. Helps reconcile monthly accounts by way of preparing balance sheet reconciliations for various legal entities. Helps prepare all Invoices for all entities and assist with various reports for quarterly audit purposes. Performs other related duties as assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS:** **EDUCATION:** Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline from an accredited college or university. **EXPERIENCE:** 0 – 1 year related professional experience is required. **CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:** None required **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES ** **KNOWLEDGE:** Has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures. **SKILLS (proficiency level generally aligns to knowledge section above):** * Verbal and written communication skills. * Analytical
