What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Ergonomics, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, Biomechanics, Systems Design, or related discipline with coursework in human factors or ergonomics, 2–5 years of experience in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Industrial Design, or Human Systems, Experience supporting ergonomic or human factors activities related to hardware, vehicles, facilities, or operational environments, Understanding of user-centred design principles, usability testing, and ergonomic assessment methods, Familiarity with anthropometric analysis and ergonomic evaluations, Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, Ability to support research, testing, and design evaluations to improve End User experience and usability
Nice to Have
Experience using human modelling or simulation tools such as Siemens Process Simulate Human, JACK, or similar software, Familiarity with military (MIL-STD 1472, DEF-STAN-0251 and DEF-STAN 00-23-09), ANSI, OSHA, or ISO ergonomic and human factors standards, Experience supporting usability studies, workshops, interviews, or research activities, Exposure to creating ergonomic or human factors artefacts, mockups, or design recommendations, Experience working with integrated product or engineering teams, Technical writing and presentation experience, Relevant professional certification or progress toward certification (e. g. , CCPE, AE, CPE, C. ErgHF), Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models

Join our Calgary team as an Ergonomist / Human Factors Engineer and help create solutions that improve the effectiveness, usability, and experience of military systems for soldiers in the field. In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of human factors specialists, user experience experts, designers, and engineers to identify End User needs and define ergonomic problem spaces. Your focus will include hardware design, reach and accommodation analysis, and the integration of products into vehicles and other operational environments. Using human factors and ergonomic principles, research, and usability testing, you will advocate for the End User throughout the design and development process. You will play a key role in ensuring military systems are intuitive, effective, and aligned with operational requirements through an iterative user-centred design approach.
