What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Master’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise, OR Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise, OR No degree and 10 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise, Demonstrated experience in orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, or related aerospace engineering disciplines, Proficiency with conjunction assessment tools and orbital propagation software (e. g. , STK, FreeFlyer, or equivalent), Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with adjudicated polygraph
Nice to Have
Experience with automated collision avoidance systems and space traffic management, Familiarity with international space safety standards and coordination protocols (e. g. , CCSDS, ISO)
What You'll Do.
Perform conjunction assessments using industry-standard tools and models to evaluate collision risk
Analyze orbital data and propagate trajectories to predict potential conjunctions
Support planning and execution of collision avoidance maneuvers in coordination with mission operations
Maintain accurate documentation of conjunction assessments
and maneuver decisions
Assist in developing and refining collision avoidance algorithms and decision-support tools
Participate in anomaly resolution and post-event analysis for conjunction-related incidents
Collaborate with external organizations for data exchange and coordination of avoidance actions
Contribute to process improvement initiatives for automation and accuracy in collision avoidance systems
Ensure compliance with applicable standards
and best practices for space safety
