What You'll Do.

Begin assessment for an inpatient within 24 hours of referral and complete within two interviews or within seven working days of referral

Begin assessment for an outpatient as soon as patient permits and complete within two interviews

Complete assessment for an Emergency Department patient within four hours of discharge

Maintain patient confidentiality

Document each patient encounter

Provide clinical supervision to other department personnel

Comply with departmental

regulatory and professional requirements for documentation recording

Submit department statistics and other records and reports

Maintain competency in areas of responsibility

Attend scheduled staff meetings and in-service education program offerings

Obtain continuing education units necessary to maintain licensure

Participate in department programs and comply with department policies and procedures

Supervise MSW and BSW students

Identify weaknesses in operation and recommend improvements

Work on department committees

Represent department throughout hospital and outside community

Maintain work area and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion

Maintain a complete understanding of emergency procedures

Conform to hospital standards of conduct

Notify supervisor when patients in age group not regularly served are present

Provide cross coverage and back up as needed

Perform other duties as needed

Utilize hospital's behavioral standards as the basis for decision making

Follow established hospital infection control and safety procedures

**POSITION SUMMARY:** As part of their role, this person will provide dyadic behavioral health support to children and adolescents and their primary caregivers within the Department of Pediatrics. Will act as content area expert within a multi-disciplinary team for implementation of trauma informed approaches and integrated behavioral health. Will respond to clinic for other social emotional needs and conduct clinical case management as needed. This person will participate in two multidisciplinary teams (Practice of the Future and GROW), helping to develop and test innovative models of primary care and specialty care within the Department of Pediatrics. Utilizing clinical social work techniques and theory, consults on, assesses, and intervenes with high-risk patients and their families regarding the impact/amelioration of emotional and social problems. Duties also include, but are not limited to, conducting psychosocial assessments, making a psychosocial diagnosis, planning and implementing effective treatments, evaluation, education, supervision, coaching and mentoring of the patient (client) and family members. The position consults with, collaborates and communicates with a wide range of social, governmental and legal agencies, courts, schools, clinics, other hospitals, physicians and other sources in the overall care of the patient. **Position: Integrated Behavioral Health Clinical Social Worker** **Department: Pediatrics** **Schedule: 40 hours** **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:** * Assesses patient and family to ascertain those emotional and social problems.
