What You'll Do.
Oversee frontend billing process
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Convey policy benefit information to patients
Answer patient questions about balances
Assist with insurance verification details
Act as first point of contact for messages
Maintain dated eligibility checks
Assist with patients who have lapsed coverage
Serve as subject matter expert for training
Help develop standard processes
Maintain accurate insurance data
Identify and correct billing errors
Resubmit claims to insurance carriers

About this role In coordination with the department supervisor, the Insurance Verification and Patient Support Specialist is responsible for overseeing the frontend billing process for patients, including eligibility verification and patient insurance updates. You will cross collaborate across departments to ensure quick resolution to eligibility issues, prior authorizations and other patient billing inquiries. What you'll do: Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for all new Boulder Care commercial enrollments Conveying policy benefit and eligibility information to patients in a comprehensive and professional manner Answering incoming questions from Boulder patients around balances due, non covered charges etc Assist our Enrollment Specialist and Care Navigator teams with difficult insurance verification details for newly enrolled and established patients Act as first point of contact for incoming patient
