What They're Looking For.
Must Have
pricing experience in UK Home insurance or a similar general insurance product, highly analytical and hands-on with data, comfortable running pricing experiments (e. g. , elasticity testing), using conversion, loss ratio, and risk data to drive actionable decisions, sufficient underwriting knowledge to effectively challenge insurer proposals, pricing assumptions, and rating factors using data, solid grounding in SQL
Nice to Have
worked in a digital-first insurer, insurtech, or high-growth product-led environment, experience with PCWs or other highly price-sensitive distribution channels, Familiarity with underwriting concepts and insurer-led pricing discussions
What You'll Do.
own and continuously improve the performance of Monzo’s insurance pricing
understanding how our prices perform in market
and what we should do about it
day-to-day optimisation through to longer-term pricing strategy
Owning day-to-day pricing performance
understanding where we sit in the market and why
claims and loss ratio data to identify opportunities to improve growth and profitability
Running and supporting pricing experiments (e. g. segment-level changes
elasticity testing) including on PCWs
Refining pricing segments
rating factors and tiering to improve decision quality
Working with our insurer to evaluate pricing proposals
assumptions and trade-offs
Building a clear view of price competitiveness
and recommending actions to improve rank and conversion
Helping develop our internal pricing capability - including frameworks
datasets and ways of working
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
work closely with our insurance partner, data scientists, and product teams; Working with Data Science to deepen analysis; Working with our insurer to evaluate pricing proposals, assumptions and trade-offs
