Full Job Description
You will contribute to the operation and evolution of the Large Hadron Collider's cryogenic infrastructure. You will lead the development, procurement, and commissioning of radiation-tolerant cryogenic instrumentation, including the replacement of industrial pressure sensors not suited for radiation environments. By deploying upgraded rad-tolerant sensors, you will improve system availability and robustness, delivering durable hardware solutions beyond temporary software mitigations. Your responsibilities * Carry out R&D on cryogenic instrumentation. * Validate and test radiation-tolerant cryogenic instrumentation. * Manage procurement, testing, and commissioning of sensors and electronics. * Replace non-qualified industrial sensors to improve system reliability and availability. * Support integration, performance analysis, and technical documentation. Your profile * Testing, calibration, and validation of instrumentation sensors. * Performance analysis and optimisation of instrumentation systems. * Experience with front-end and back-end electronics, as well as real-time data acquisition systems. * Experience in simulation, design, and development of cryogenic instrumentation components would be an asset. Skills * Metrology. * Data acquisition system. * Diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation issues in complex process systems. * Applying practical knowledge of measurement and electronic technologies in operational environments. * Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the training and supervision of students. * Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language. Eligibility criteria: * You are a national of a [CERN Member or Associate Member State](https://home.cern/about/member-states). * You have a professional background in Physicist or Nuclear Engineering (or a related field) and have either: * a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience; * or
