Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, demonstration of sonography techniques or patient simulations, pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs, Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required

Bachelor Degree, Current Diagnostic Medical Sonography license in New Mexico, Possess national certification in Abdominal Sonography, Minimum of two years clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field, Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques

Nice to Have

Master’s degree, National certification in Abdominal and OB/GYN or Vascular sonography, Experience in supervision, instruction and evaluation of sonography students

What You'll Do.

Prepare and teach courses in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Teach 12 credit hours each Fall and Spring semester

Provide theory instruction as well as supervision of clinical experiences of students

Serve as Program Director for the program

Maintain contact with program personnel

clinical sites and students

Maintain and document current licensing

and certifications for personnel

program and equipment

and evaluate Diagnostic Medical Sonography faculty

Deliver well-prepared

and clear lectures and activities

Develop and submit course syllabi for all assigned courses

Collaborate with department members and the Division Chair to develop and revise curriculum

select textbooks and equipment

create instructional materials

and ensure cohesive and uniform student assessment practices

Establish and maintain an effective learning environment

Utilize course assessment practices

assess and communicate student proficiency

Document findings in formal assessment reports

Utilize technology for classroom

and laboratory instruction

Provide students with timely and accurate information and feedback

Maintain a daily on-campus presence

Ensure a minimum of 5 in-person office hours per week

Perform all faculty responsibilities

encompassing teaching

participation in in-services

evaluating student academic achievement

participating in professional development activities

and contributing to orientations

and other assigned duties
