Must Have
Bachelor's Degree in education or related field, Three consecutive years of Effective or Highly Effective ratings, Five years teaching experience, Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
Nice to Have
Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate (will be required to enroll in program if don't currently possess), Master's Degree in education or related field, Preferred experience a coaching or leadership position in an urban school setting
What You'll Do.
Enhance student achievement by supporting teachers
Collaborate with educators to set goals
Develop action plans addressing instructional needs
Assist with resource gathering
Provide professional development aligned with district goals
Foster true partnerships with teachers
Learn alongside teachers
Keep detailed records
Collaborate with peers to improve teaching practices
Receive ongoing training for professional growth
Improve student achievement through teacher created goals
Utilize LSD coaching models
Provide support to teachers
Build and maintain positive relationships
Communicate effectively and confidentially
Follow protocol to initiate coaching partnerships
Maintain a full coaching caseload
Provide professional learning follow-up support
Connect new learning to improve instruction
Demonstrate resourcefulness to meet teacher needs
Review related research
Create connections with others
Maintain a professional calendar
Maintain instructional coaching log
Participate in leadership meetings
Participate in training
Provide consistent support
Provide strategic support
Work collaboratively with other coaches
Utilize existing curricular programs
Utilize existing platforms
Utilize existing resources
Collaborate with colleagues to provide support
