What They're Looking For.
Must Have
2 to 4 years of experience working on utility distribution system projects, Proficiency in AutoCAD, Proficiency in Geographical Information Systems, Proficiency in MS Office applications, Proficiency in Smartsheet, Proficiency in SAP, Proficiency in web-based applications, Designer experience (Overhead, Underground, or Gas)
Nice to Have
Communicate with other project team members in the development of a compliant design according to appropriate standards, Ability to effectively communicate with regards to design approach and decisions made during the design process, Able to substitute in project meetings and communicate effectively with regards to the design in the absence of the Project Manager or Project Designer, Communicates with other project team members and customers in the development of a compliant design according to appropriate standards, Moderate experience working with designers, planners and PM’s on matters related to design, Manages design files and functional organization of design comments and iterations
What You'll Do.
Visit work sites to collect information
Assist with determination of scope to enable designs of low to moderate complexity for additions and modifications to Company gas and/or electric facilities from onset through completion of project
Meet with customers to identify specific design limitations
and customer requests
Prepare service orders
field memos and light construction work orders with safe
and cost-effective designs that conform to Company policies
Provide knowledge of and experience with the interpretation and application of design and engineering principles
gas and electric theory standard practices and construction calculations
Identify site specific obstacles
Relay site specific obstacle information to customers
Present design options for consideration
Report and provide advice and recommendations regarding scope identification
customer communication and regulations and standards
