What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field, valid California PE license, CCM, Minimum 15 years of construction management experience on municipal and/or public infrastructure projects, direct responsibility (Resident Engineer or Lead Construction Manager) on projects delivered within Orange County, Demonstrated experience supervising and directing project teams, managing multiple concurrent projects, multidisciplinary teams, Proven experience managing municipal roadway/street projects, public facilities, Demonstrated ability to manage construction in active public environments, compliance with public agency standards, permitting and inspection requirements, stakeholder coordination, dispute resolution, executive-level communication, valid driver’s license
Nice to Have
current PE license in California, CCM certification, PMP certification, Holding both PE and CCM/PMP is strongly preferred
What You'll Do.
Serve as responsible-in-charge for municipal public works projects
Provide direction and oversight to project deliverables
Serve as primary point of contact for city staff
Lead project coordination and issue resolution
Oversee construction administration activities
Monitor contractor performance and schedule progress
Manage contractor payment processes
Oversee preparation of inspection reports
Review construction plans and specifications
Enforce contractor compliance with contract documents
Identify and communicate critical project issues
Coordinate construction phasing and utility coordination
Manage multiple concurrent projects
Ensure field changes are captured on record drawings
Support business development activities
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Lead project teams including CM IIIs and inspection staff; Serve as primary point of contact for city staff, project managers, and department directors; Coordinate with contractors and agencies; Communicate critical project issues to internal leadership and agency clients; Coordinate construction phasing, traffic control, and utility coordination within active public environments; Allocate team resources effectively across the project portfolio
