Full Job Description
Role: Infectious Prevention and Control (IPC) Outbreak Nurse – Register Hours: UK-Med Register role, no guarantee of any work, but if deployed work will be full-time. Remuneration: GBP £3,400 to GBP £4,400 gross per month (Dependant on experience and depending on deployment context, with up to 20% additional allowance for adverse conditions) Duration: Register members who deploy will be offered fixed-term contracts. The duration will depend on the requirements of the response, but most outbreak responses are around 6 weeks with quarantine period). Location: Internationally and/or to any of the UK-Med responses. Are you an experienced Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurse skilled in delivery care in response to medical emergencies? UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the NHS, we have been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has access to the healthcare they need when crises or disasters strike. As UK-Med continues to strengthen its outbreak response capacity and preparedness for potential programming in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and other humanitarian contexts, we are seeking experienced Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurses to join our Register. Successful candidates will be available to travel and work internationally at short notice for a minimum of six weeks (longer availability is highly desirable). While this is a Register position, we will prioritise candidates with immediate or near-term availability to support our Ebola outbreak response activities in the DRC should deployment requirements arise. We will also prioritise applicants from those who speak French. Our ideal candidates will be fully licensed and experienced IPC Nurses with a strong background in outbreak preparedness and response, ideally gained in humanitarian, emergency or low-resource settings.
