# **Spectrum Resource Group** **The Position:** Industrial Backpack Technician **Type:** Seasonal **Reports To:** Crew Leader **About Us:** Spectrum Resource Group (SRG), a business unit of Wright Canada Holdings, Spectrum Resource Group is an integrated vegetation management (IVM) solutions provider with expertise in vegetation management, forest management, and reforestation. We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada. **Why Wright Canada Holdings:** * A Company Culture of Safety, Family, Integrity, Excellence and Stewardship * An hourly rate of $25.00 _plus_ vacation pay and statutory holiday pay. * Potential for work that extends past the tree-planting season. * Employee ownership potential. **Key Responsibilities:** * Treatment of all of the required vegetation within a designated area. * Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. * Maintain the spray pack, keep the nozzle out of the dirt and hoses from catching on branches, sticks etc. * Walk through logged areas while pumping the backpack and waving the wand. * Sufficiently to maintain pressure and achieve good coverage. * Follow the direction of the supervisor, crewleader and mixer. * Layout boundaries required * Space off flagged boundaries and riparian areas. * Waiting for ideal weather conditions. * Work areas are assigned by the client over a large geographic region. Frequent travel will be expected. * Other duties as required. **Experience and Knowledge Expectations:** * The physical ability to perform highly demanding role * The ability to carry 50+ pounds on your back * The repeated use of pumping arm and the repeated swing of spray arm * Ability to walk rapidly over debris on uneven terrain * Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid S100/S100A certification, or equivalen
