What They're Looking For.
Must Have
13–16 years of experience managing and supporting IBM / AS400 / iSeries environments, including system administration, performance tuning, and database management., Advanced expertise in DB2 for i, performance tuning, and IBM system internals., proficiency with iDoctor, Plan Cache, SQL Performance Monitor, Collection Services, and other IBM performance tools., Solid understanding of IBM security concepts, journaling, BRMS, and backup/recovery strategies., Experience in diagnosing and resolving complex performance bottlenecks across database, CPU, memory, and I/O layers., Knowledge of encryption standards, security administration, and regulatory compliance requirements., Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to provide actionable insights and expert recommendations.
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field., Experience with HA/DR solutions (PowerHA, MIMIX, BRMS)., Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments with mission-critical workloads., Mentor junior team members on IBM performance concepts, diagnostic techniques, and database operations.
