Full Job Description

Amazon LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. A day in the life: As an Hardware Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative, challenging, and exciting phased array antenna systems in industry right now. You will engage with an experienced team to conceive and design phased arrays aimed at delighting customers with affordable, reliable, high bandwidth connectivity. You will work closely with Amazon LEO's various sub-teams and engage third party suppliers to drive product definition, design, optimization, implementation, and test. The Hardware Engineer will have a complete understanding of how their design changes impact downstream partners such as operations, supply chain, product management, and reliability. Amazon strongly believes in Ownership and you will have the opportunity to own your designs from concept through production. You will own or contribute to the following: - Own PCBA development from concept through production - Design and optimize different blocks of electronics sub-systems - Design high-speed digital circuitry in collaboration with various teams - Lead and review schematic capture and PCB layout - Lead PCB vendor engagement for DFM review - Optimize PCB stack-up for performance and cost - Generate test plans/procedures based off high level requirement definition - Complete board bring-up and perform test campaigns for different modules and subsystems - Design of automated test systems, test fixtures, and factory test - Support the transition of the designs to production About the hiring group: The payload team is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, validation, qualification, and new product introduction to manufacturing for all satellite payloads.
