What They're Looking For.

Must Have

5–10+ years of experience in HV/MV electrical engineering, Experience in utility-scale Solar PV, BESS, or grid infrastructure projects, Deep understanding of HV systems, substations, protection systems, and grid connection design, Knowledge of UK grid standards and processes, Experience reviewing and interpreting electrical studies, Exposure to HV commissioning, testing, and energisation activities, Ability to critically review and challenge EPC and consultant designs, Understanding of electrical safety regulations and compliance frameworks

Nice to Have

Previous experience within an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) will be prioritised

What You'll Do.

Act as HV/MV electrical subject matter expert

Provide technical leadership on substations

Provide technical leadership on grid connections

Provide technical leadership on transformers

Provide technical leadership on switchgear

Provide technical leadership on protection systems

Review and approve electrical designs

Ensure electrical systems are safe

Ensure electrical systems are compliant

Optimise electrical systems for performance

Optimise electrical systems for reliability

Provide technical challenge for engineering solutions

Lead technical review of grid connection agreements

Lead technical review of compliance requirements

Ensure adherence to UK Grid Code

Ensure adherence to DNO/TSO requirements

Ensure adherence to G99/G100

Ensure adherence to relevant standards

Oversee third-party grid studies

Validate third-party grid studies

Act as technical interface with DNOs

Act as technical interface with TSOs

Act as technical interface with ICPs

Support resolution of grid-related technical constraints

Support resolution of design challenges

Provide HV electrical input from development

Provide HV electrical input to commissioning

Provide HV electrical input to handover

Support EPC interface

Respond to technical queries

Respond to design clarifications

Ensure alignment between design intent

Ensure alignment between procurement

Ensure alignment between construction execution

Support handover to Asset Management

Support site delivery teams during HV installation

Support site delivery teams during testing

Support site delivery teams during energisation

Support site delivery teams during commissioning

Witness key electrical testing activities

Sign off key electrical testing activities

Troubleshoot HV/MV electrical issues during construction

Troubleshoot HV/MV electrical issues during early operations

Ensure as-built systems comply with designs

Ensure as-built systems comply with grid requirements

Support energisation planning

Support energisation execution

Interface with EPC contractors

Interface with consultants

Interface with lenders

Interface with independent engineers

Support technical due diligence processes

Support lender advisory requirements

Provide engineering assurance across deliverables

Collaborate with Development teams

Collaborate with Construction teams

Collaborate with Asset Management teams

Act as escalation point for technical issues
