Must Have

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field, 2+ years of related or equivalent combination of education and experience, Knowledge of employment law practices, Experience in administration of benefits, compensation, and other programs, Knowledge and use of commonly used HRIS such as Workday, payroll/timekeeping systems and Microsoft Office Suite, written and verbal communication skills, Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, Demonstrated ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment, Must be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building working relationships and a positive work environment

Nice to Have

Previous Workday/HCM system experience, Bilingual in Spanish or another language

Maintain positive labor relations environment

Facilitate workplace investigations

Ensures hourly production employee retention

Data entry into time/attendance system

Management of job/vacation bid processes

Communicates Smithfield’s ROI guiding principles

Collects and analyzes HR data

Makes recommendations on workforce planning

Supports OJT training initiatives

Assists in maintenance of DE&I initiatives

Maintains Affirmative Action Plan

Provides necessary resources for employees

Assist site HR leader in providing guidance

Handles grievance meetings

Manages records entry/management

Handles employee inquiries

Manages community relations activities

Manages temporary staffing services

Manages invoice management

Provide direction/leadership to junior staff

Serves as visible business partner

Visits production floor to engage employees

Assists in preparation of HR-related compliance audits

Maintains Human Resource Information System records

Compiles reports from database

Partnering with Talent Acquisition

Create and manage requisition creations

Maintaining compliance with regulations

Assists with job fairs
