Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, 8 + years of progressive HR experience that includes employee relations, performance management, labor relations and HR withing a unionized environment, Recruitment and administrating federal and state programs, Excelling in effective communication, both written and verbal, adeptly handles difficult conversations, and demonstrates problem-solving skills, Proficient and prioritizing, aligning and adapting to changes, and resourceful, while maintaining genuine and ongoing support, Demonstrated success in building and productive partnerships with employees and managers at all levels, recognized as a trusted advisor, business acumen sharp, sharp critical thinking skills, and a results-oriented mindset, Proficient in advanced use of Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint

Workday experience, Professional certification, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)

What You'll Do.

Serve as the HR point of contact for employees and management in a unionized environment

ensuring compliance with the CBA and fostering positive labor relations

Provide guidance and support to management on interpreting and applying the terms of the CBA

labor laws and company policies

Conduct investigations into workplace concerns

including disciplinary matters

and adherence to company policies and union agreements

Utilize data and analytics to drive business insight informing decision making in staffing

maintaining appropriate union staffing levels

Support full cycle recruitment

including facilitating on-site union orientations

Determine eligibility in alignment with the requirements of federal and state programs (FMLA

Offer guidance and support to both union employees and management in compliance with federal and state programs

Maintain accurate and confidential HR records

including those related to grievances

and labor relations activities

The Human Resources Business Partner plays a pivotal role, strategically supporting the NJVIC program while actively engaging in hands-on tasks. This fast-paced, highly visible role is integral and collaborates with managers, union and the HR team to align strategic priorities with business needs. Additionally, you will foster positive labor relations to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and a commitment to build strong relationships with employees, union representatives and management.
