2 years of experience in healthcare/clinical setting, 1 year of experience as a human milk technician, Successfully completed all annual competencies, In good standing, Pass Human Milk and Formula Handling and Calculations Competency test within 60 days of hire with >90% accuracy, Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and perform algebra, Ability to analyze numerous pieces of data to make clinical decisions, Adheres to facility confidentiality, HIPAA Regulations, and patient rights polices, Adhere to all sanitary regulations and documentation standards, Practices safe handling of expressed human milk and/or donor human milk per hospital policy and using aseptic technique, Prepares human milk orders by accurately measuring ingredients using gram scale, graduated cylinder, bead bath, and other Nutrition Lab equipment, Orders supplies for Nutrition Lab, Maintains equipment and clean environment in Nutrition Lab, Performs other responsibilities as required, Analyzes and aggregates Nutrition Lab human milk production data, Oversees regular audits of Milk Room standards and procedures, Participates in the orientation and training of new Dietitians, Nutrition Technicians, and Formula Technicians related to the Human Milk Technician responsibilities
