We have an exciting position for an HT Technician who will provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel proactively on complex mechanical systems, equipment and processes to continuously enhance plant performance and availability. Kumba Iron Ore We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape. As an HT Technician you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to: * Take part in safety audits, inspections, and observations, and demonstrate safety leadership by addressing issues. * Ensure installations, commissioning of infrastructure and post-installation work testing for functionality are executed following specifications within the agreed schedule and budgetary limits. * Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against planned schedules to meet operational targets, minimise downtime, enable timely reporting and enhance plant efficiency. * Provide proactive assistance or respond to requests from maintenance personnel. * Identify components that cause excessive downtime and implement permanent solutions. * Test equipment/machinery for functionality and safety before returning it to production. * Facilitate failure analysis investigations to find the root cause of problems and develop solutions. * Train maintenance personnel on system maintenance when a new system is
