Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in business related field with demonstrated understanding of human resource laws, or equivalent experience, Minimum three years’ experience in human resources or related or equivalent, employee relation skills with 2-3 years of labour relations experience, focusing on investigations, Demonstrated ability to handle matters of confidentiality discreetly and work with employees on issues requiring varying degrees of sensitivity, Demonstrated broad understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures, Possesses specific knowledge in areas of compensation and benefits programs, Magna Donnelly policies, and labour laws to perform job duties independently and make decisions under minimal supervision, Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects and programs, Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects, Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees, Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise
What You'll Do.
Act as primary contact for employees on policies
Provide guidance and counsel to supervisors
Manage personnel placement function
Assume responsibility for employee recruitment
Process complex information
Coordinate job evaluations
Approve salary changes
Administer job posting system
Maintain accuracy of job titles
Administer personnel/payroll database
Maintain and distribute employee information
Assist with workers' compensation cases
Plan and coordinate employee events
Handle employee relations issues
Recruit and hire new employees
Perform production staffing functions
Assist supervisors in job selections
Coordinate and approve job postings
Evaluate and maintain job descriptions
Coordinate job evaluations
Initiate and obtain approval for salary changes
Coordinate personnel placement
Coordinate administration of unemployment benefits
Approve unemployment benefit applications
Represent during unemployment hearings
Implement solutions for work related problems
Provide support to management in disciplinary actions
Monitor practices to ensure compliance
Participate in development of new programs
Create monthly employee newsletter
Maintain employee files and databases
