Must Have

Three years of office experience, OR equivalent education/experience (for HR Assistant 1 level), Four years of office experience, including two years of experience working with classification/compensation, performance management, and/or recruitment in a human resource environment. Equivalent education/experience may be considered (for HR Assistant 2 level), Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills., Demonstrated experience providing customer service both in person and/or over the phone., Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook., Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks at one time, with frequent interruptions., Excellent attention to detail.

Nice to Have

Experience in the human resource functions of training & development, benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, and/or employee/labor relations., Experience providing clerical – administrative support to multiple individuals., Experience presenting group orientations and/or trainings.

What You'll Do.

Perform a variety of duties in support of human resource operations and employment compliance.

Serve as the main point of contact for a variety of recruitment related activities.

Process background checks and communicate background check policies and procedures.

Coordinate New Employee Orientation sessions.

and maintain accurate correspondence and records.

Provide customer service to department leadership

applicants and other constituents.

and frequently track and update documentation and spreadsheets.

Assist the HR Consulting team in updating and maintaining HR resources

preparing reports and presentations

and communicating with employees and management.

Team & Collaboration

Part of the university wide Human Resource Services team with colleagues and support available at all WSU campuses.; Collaborate with HR Consulting team.
