What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, Three years of related human services experience, Valid driver's license, Physically capable of restraining juveniles and defending self, Obtain required documentation for certification as a Juvenile Justice Officer, Pass a Criminal Background check, Pass a Drug Screening test, Pass a Psychological test, Pass a Sexual Risk Screening test, Pass a Physical (to include Vision and Hearing), Be a US citizen, Be at least 20 years of age
Nice to Have
Demonstrated experience of individual and group behavior, Demonstrated experience with crisis intervention counseling approaches, Demonstrated experience communicating with staff at all levels, Demonstrated experience working with minority group cultures
What You'll Do.
Provide for overall safety and security of youth
Serve as a supervisor for all third shift
Plan and prepare a schedule for staff coverage
Monitor activities assigned to the shift
Assure that all duties are performed
Visit individual living units
Provide staff support
Provide crisis intervention if necessary
Respond to incoming visitors and telephone calls
Notify appropriate staff in case of emergency
Conduct nightly shift review
Update staff about problems
and policies and procedures
Provide mini training sessions
Review and approve all written assignments completed by
Prepare written reports
Update incoming Supervisors of third shift events
