What You'll Do.
Clean and disinfect exam rooms

Launder and restock linens

and sanitize floors and surfaces regularly
Clean and maintain restrooms and staff areas
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and notify management of shortages
Assist with odor control and ensure proper ventilation practices
Follow strict infection control and safety procedures
especially around animals and hazardous materials
Report maintenance issues

### **Position Summary** The Housekeeping Staff member is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the animal hospital. This role is essential in supporting infection control, ensuring compliance with health standards, and contributing to the comfort and well-being of patients, clients, and staff. ### **Key Responsibilities** * Clean and disinfect exam rooms, kennels, and common areas according to hospital protocols * Properly dispose of medical and general waste, including biohazard materials, in compliance with regulations * keep hospital grounds well kept and clear of any trash/ animal waste * Launder and restock linens, towels, and protective equipment * Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces regularly * Clean and maintain restrooms and staff areas * Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and notify management of shortages * Assist with odor control and ensure proper ventilation practices * Follow strict infection control and safety procedures, especially around animals and hazardous materials * Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly ### **Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent preferred * Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience, ideally in a healthcare or veterinary setting, is a plus * Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and safety guidelines * Comfortable working around animals, including those that may be sick, injured, or stressed * Physical ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 40 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks * Strong attention to detail and reliability ### **Skills & Competencies** * Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper usage * Time management and ability to prioritize tasks * Team-oriented with good communication skills * Dependable and able to work independently ### **Work Environment** * Exposure to animals, cleaning chemicals, and occasional biohazards * May involve evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on hospital hours * Fast-p
