Industry & Context.
18 years of age or above, Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations, Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request, Moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least thirty (30) pounds, Varied instances of standing/walking, Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, Must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
18 years of age or above, Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents, Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests, Conversational English required, Ability to write instructions, Ability to present information, Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations, Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request, Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner, Must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
Nice to Have
High school degree or equivalent preferred, Minimum 1 year of hosting experience preferred, Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus, Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills as well as excellent attention to detail, second language a plus
What You'll Do.
Maintaining the reservation book and the flow of service
Greeting all guests and showing them to their tables
Accommodating guest needs and requests
Acting as an ambassador for the restaurant
Speaking in detail about food and beverage selections
and special arrangements
Fulfilling job responsibilities to support the department
Maximizing opportunities for maintaining all Encore
Ensuring excellent guest and team member experience
Ensuring all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
Participating in short- and long-term departmental goals
and operating monitors
Evaluating operational effects changes required for improvement
Identifying key drivers of success
Actively contributing to departmental performance
and thoroughness of departmental policies and records and reports
Following that all applicable internal policies
federal and state laws
regulations and property-wide controls are enforced within the department
Delivering and maintaining a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction
Contributing to company-wide communication and best practices
Keeping informed of all new developments within the department
Balancing multiple priorities simultaneously and meeting deadlines
often in stressful and high-pressure situations
Providing information on all aspects of available services and facilities for guests
Greeting guests and arranging monitors room atmosphere
Quoting accurate waiting times and handling guest waiting lists or reservations in accordance with established procedures
Assisting guests with reservations via phone
Making confirmation calls when appropriate
Assisting guests with special requests
Connecting guests with other departments that can fulfil their needs
Overseeing quality check and rotation of menus
Communicating with co-workers and supervisor to ensure quality service
Assisting with special projects as assigned by restaurant management
Working with safety as a priority
Following department and company safety standards
Maintaining relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training
Performing any other job-related duties as assigned
