What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma or Equivalent, Current HIM or Coding Certification through AHIMA or AAPC, Two (2) years of hospital coding experience
Nice to Have
Graduate of Health Information Technology (HIT) or equivalent program OR Medical Coding Certification Program
What You'll Do.
Interpret medical record documentation
Assign appropriate ICD-10
Code moderately complex patient classes
Assign hospital codes
Assure quality and timely coding
Maintain and enhance coding knowledge
and timely review of data
Contact physicians for information
Communicate with other offices
