Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).** **Hiring Unit:** _Athletics & Recreation_ **Position Summary:** Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the Hockey Camp Off-Ice Specialist will be expected to act as a role model and ambassador for McGill when demonstrating the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle through a combination of participation and instruction of hockey practices and camp physical activities to children ranging from ages 7-12 years old. Duties * Participate in camp orientation * Greet and welcome campers as they arrive * Liaise with parents regarding campers’ specific needs and progress * Lead and ensure campers and facilitate their participation in the hockey off-ice practices and other related activities to create a positive and memorable experience * Create and coordinate detailed lesson plans for off-ice hockey instruction for 6 one-hour sessions of 30 campers per session. Lessons must be adapted to different age groups and campers' abilities. * Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines and understand all emergency procedures associated with the camp; ensure stressful situations are addressed promptly to the immediate supervisor. When necessary, communicate with the Winsor Clinic therapist staff regarding incidents requiring immediate medical attention * Monitor and ensure safe movement of campers from one activity to another throughout the sports complex and arena. * Maintain communication with Section Leaders regarding any issues requiring their attention **Other Qualifying Skills
