The Histology Technologist is responsible for processing all tissues and fluids submitted to the department, preparing/staining tissue slides and assuring they are available in a timely manner for Pathologist review and interpretation. **Qualifications** * Req High School or equivalent * Pref Associate’s Degree Degree in related field. * Req 1 year Experience as a Histotech or Dermatology Lab Technician in an Acute Care Facility or Outpatient Surgery Setting. * Req Experience in specialized stains, cutting, embedding, computer experience, quality control, QC evaluation, inventory control, preventative maintenance and quality improvement. * Req 3 years Clinical training in an approved Histology Training Program. * Req Organization/time management skills. * Req Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior. * Req Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Req Knowledge of medical terminology. * Pref Histology Technician ASCP Certification As part of Keck Medicine of USC, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is the only community hospital in the Foothills area of Los Angeles backed by an academic medical center.
