Associate degree in a related field or High School Diploma + 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both), knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures, specimen processing, and analysis, Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology, attention to detail and ability to work with precision, Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues

What You'll Do.
Perform routine histology procedures
Assist physician or PA during bone marrow procedures
Make and stain slides
Prepare slides for examination
Ensure proper accessioning and labeling of tissue samples
Process paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting
Resolve specimen identification and/or requisition problems
Cut quality tissue sections
Embed tissue into paraffin blocks
Maintain filing system for paraffin tissue blocks
slides and wet tissue
File and store tissue blocks and slides
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning equipment
