Willing to work in a shop environment, Limited field work, including travel, may be required, Able to work comfortably at heights and adverse weather conditions if required, physically demanding position, required to be in good physical condition, good manual dexterity, physical coordination, meet all physical fitness, medical and weight requirements, Valid Class 5 driver’s license
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Journeyperson Power System Electrician (PSE) or Apprentice, Journeyperson Electric Motor Systems Technician (EMST), Journeyperson Electrician, Proven ability/experience in above noted responsibilities, Proven track record of safe work and commitment to environmental, health and safety standards and requirements, Ability to become competent in the development and documentation of Safe Work Plans, Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines, Be competent and comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets, Ability to adapt to changing conditions and able to effectively manage multiple priorities, Ability to effectively work as part of a team and independently, Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive outcomes, Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license, Able to work comfortably at heights and adverse weather conditions if required, To ensure we meet our safety requirements, you are required to be in good physical condition, have good manual dexterity and physical coordination and meet all physical fitness, medical and weight requirements, Proven track record of good attendance and performance
Nice to Have
Previous experience in the repair of major electrical equipment is an asset, Experience operating cranes, rigging and forklift equipment is an asset
What You'll Do.
failure analysis assessments
identifying parts requirements
refurbishment and testing of substation equipment
dismantling and disposal of failed or obsolete equipment and materials
Maintain and repair major Electrical Equipment (Power Transformers
Instrument Transformers
unloading and loading electrical equipment and parts
Identification of repair parts
and refurbishment of major electrical equipment
Assisting with root cause failure analysis of failed electrical equipment
Processing of insulating oil for inventory or for equipment
and recycling of obsolete or failed equipment
and disposal of electrical insulating materials including oil
Provide technical support for the field technologists on electrical equipment (e.g.
testing and quality control of Gas Detector Relays
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
part of a team responsible for failure analysis assessments; Provide technical support for the field technologists on electrical equipment; Assist and support Field Operations and other disciplines as required; work as part of a team; interface with team members and customers
Communication Scope
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive outcomes
