Full Job Description
Classification Exempt, 10-Month Employee Reports to HS Principal Overview The HS Associate Dean is responsible for assisting and supporting the HS leaders with implementing the norms of conduct as they relate to the safety, behavior, and discipline of the students. Upholding Systems and Compliance Assists in upholding school expectations, clear systems for arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal in collaboration with the HS Principal and the dean team Supports in student transitions to help the school community travel safely throughout the hallways Documents and maintains organized databases and up to date student information on attendance, discipline, and records Meets within the dean-department to discuss school-wide issues, trends, and upcoming events Fostering Positive Student Engagement Promotes positive discipline behavior Aids in the systems that support Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Practices with fidelity Ensures a high achievement culture Follows the guidelines presented in the Dr. Izquierdo Charter Schools Scholar Handbook Conducts restorative conversations between students who have experienced conflict Takes lead when applicable at student town halls and assemblies Creating Strong Culture and Community Assists in the safety and well-being of the students Maintains and monitors safety and order by being accessible and visible in hallways, classrooms, during arrival/dismissal of students, lunch periods, after school programs, dean’s office, detention, etc. Works closely together with colleagues to ensure consistency and discipline across the school Communicates with families positively to help deter misbehavior and focus students on the right path Supporting Instruction May lead an advisory class of scholars Supports the vision of the Dean and Leadership in executing activities/ assemblies/ initiatives that bolster student engagement and school culture Supports in enforcing classroom management best-practices school-wide
