**POSITION SUMMARY:** The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates various light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill. **PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Assists in off-loading trucks and unloading waste. * Operates equipment to stabilize and handle waste. * Processes treatment of materials and containers. * Samples post-treated materials for testing by laboratory. * Loads cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to landfill or disposal. * Performs general preventative maintenance to equipment and general housekeeping. * Performs other related duties as assigned. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** * Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation. * Ability to use hand and power tools applicable. * Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including (but not limited to): check tire pressure, check oil and water levels. * Demonstrates, accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail. * Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities. * A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** * Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire. This position works second shift after a short training period. Second shift schedule is Monday thru Friday starting at 3:00pm -11:30pm _**Pay Range:**_ The pay range for this position is $17.65 to $24.25* which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions.
