Must Have
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical work within the construction industry, Proven track record in a supervisory role, Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and blueprints, Knowledge of SEM tunneling processes, Deep understanding of safety regulations and best practices, particularly in the context of tunneling and underground construction, Excellent communication skills, Problem-solving skills, Willing to register as a member of the local union
Nice to Have
Specific experience in tunneling or underground construction, Leadership skills, Ability to manage and motivate a team of mechanical workers, Certification in safety management or related fields
What You'll Do.
and operation of mechanical equipment
Ensure all mechanical tasks are executed safely
and in accordance with project specifications
Work collaboratively with engineers
Ensure mechanical tasks are integrated smoothly into the excavation and support sequence
Follow established quality control procedures
Conduct inspections on mechanical installations
Adhere to all safety regulations
Participate in safety briefings and ensure safe work practices
Support the management of tools
and mechanical components
Ensure required mechanical resources are available when needed
Maintain accurate records of mechanical work
Provide timely updates to supervisors regarding mechanical tasks
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues
Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to develop effective solutions
Assist in the maintenance
and proper functioning of all mechanical equipment
Coordinate with the equipment manager to ensure machinery remains in optimal working condition
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Work collaboratively with engineers, foremen, site managers, and other trades to support mechanical activities within the overall tunneling workflow.; Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to develop effective solutions that minimize operational delays.
Communication Scope
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with engineers, site managers, and other stakeholders.
