What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Master’s degree or international equivalent in information systems, health informatics, computer science, epidemiology, public health, veterinary medicine, health informatics, or a related field, Minimum 5 years of experience in HIS implementation, digital health systems, and surveillance strengthening in LMICs, preferably in Guatemala, Proven experience with Guatemala’s infectious disease surveillance platforms (e.g. SINAVE, EPIWEB / Fichas SIGSA-MSPAS, ViCo) or similar platforms for health data management, visualization, and integration, Proven experience designing and implementing electronic data entry forms for web or mobile entry, understanding of infectious disease surveillance, data governance, and multisectoral coordination, Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data systems and recommend context-sensitive solutions, Experience working on large USG-funded projects or technical implementation in public health, analytical and training skills, with contributions to publications, reports, or tool development, English and Spanish proficiency required, Must have legal authorization to work in Guatemala

Prior experience in animal health, zoonotic diseases, or One Health collaborations

Design and implement centralized data pipelines and dashboards to support real-time analysis
Conduct assessments of surveillance architecture
and system interoperability across human and animal health sectors
Develop secure data-sharing protocols and governance frameworks to support multisectoral collaboration and sustainability
Collaborate with government stakeholders and partners to ensure HIS systems are responsive to national priorities and sustainably institutionalized
Train human and animal health officers at the national and subnational levels on the use of national data systems for data entry
Facilitate regular data-sharing forums and technical workshops to review outputs
and promote coordination across sectors
Support country and partner technical staff to ensure project activities are on track and informed by technical expertise
Review and revise project and donor contribute to publications
external communications
and technical documentation

PATH seeks a Health Information Systems Consultant for the STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Project. The global project will support and strengthen surveillance, detection and analytical capacity of infectious diseases across both human and animal health. The Health Information Systems Consultant must meet or exceed the required qualifications listed below.
