It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. **Description of Work** The Health Care Technician II is responsible for supervising and guiding direct care staff in the absence of the Health Care Supervisor I (DS I). This role focuses on ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of assigned individuals while supporting the implementation of their habilitation and training plans. Duties include assisting with personal care, daily living skills, socialization, leisure activities, and maintaining safety. The technician also helps in classroom and training settings, provides transportation to appointments and activities, and shops with or for individuals as needed. Additional responsibilities include administering emergency care for incidents such as seizures or accidents, performing specified housekeeping tasks, and maintaining accurate records and documentation. Applicants must be in good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry to be considered. Employee will be required to successfully complete training through our Staff Development department which includes, but is not limited to NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting.
