What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma or equivalent, Graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program, Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, Physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients, Active and current registration with CLHA
Nice to Have
Related experience in a health care facility, Program specific training/experience, Trauma-informed care, Mental health diagnoses and treatment, Responsive behaviors and behavioral management, Neurological conditions including brain injury, spinal cord injury, and multiple sclerosis (MS), Complex care needs of younger adults living with chronic disease and disabilities
What You'll Do.
Provide ongoing client care
monitor and report on client status/condition
Report changes in client status to RN/LPN
Deliver prescribed medications accurately
Support younger adults with chronic diseases
Support individuals with mental health diagnoses
Support individuals with responsive behaviors
Support individuals with neurological conditions
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Member of the interprofessional health care team; Report changes in client status to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Communication Scope
Communicate effectively in English
