We are looking for a Head of English for an international school based in Shanghai. This position is available from the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year in August 2026. The school provides a supportive and well-resourced learning environment, with a focus on academic excellence, student development, and preparing learners for success in higher education and beyond. Job responsibilities * Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student progress * Teach English to secondary school students and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons * Develop, review, and improve the English curriculum in line with the school’s academic goals * Support and mentor English teachers, including lesson observations, feedback, and professional development * Monitor student achievement and use assessment data to improve learning outcomes * Prepare lesson plans, assessments, reports, and other teaching-related materials * Work closely with school leadership and other departments to support whole-school academic development * Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and department matters * Organize and support English-related academic activities, competitions, reading programs, and enrichment projects **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree or above in English, Education, Literature, or a related subject * Recognized teaching qualification * At least 3 years of relevant English teaching experience * Previous experience as Head of Department, Subject Lead, or similar leadership role is preferred * Strong knowledge of international curricula and assessment standards * Excellent classroom management, communication, and leadership skills **Benefits** * Monthly salary of 27,000 to 32,000 RMB commensurate wi
