Full Job Description

We are looking for engineers to join our USN advanced research and development technology development team. We are in search of a computer engineering graduate, or a Computer Science graduate who has an interest in hardware and software interactions with some hands-on work. Another option would be a double major with a Math or Physics background. This role will include testing and repairing software with some hardware troubleshooting that can be learned on the job and there will be some international travel. The travel opportunities will vary but generally the travel includes annually: two 5-10 day trips to American military bases in Japan, a 1 week trip to Spain, and 4-5 local trips for 1-2 days. Overall, this is less than 15% travel. The ideal candidate needs to be self-motivated, able to self-manage and follow procedures accurately with respect to safety and security, and able to work with other software engineers to improve software user enhancements and efficiency in an R&D setting. We need you to join us on the ground floor of some of the latest programs. Primary work location will be in Fredericksburg, VA or Dahlgren, VA with occasional telecommute or travel opportunities. **Hardware Engineer Responsibilities Include:** * Testing adjustments of software graphical user interfaces for local tools with the team of developers. * Supporting test hardware/software environment. * Troubleshooting hardware and software interactions. To document findings accurately.
